Video Production for Online Course on Nutrition for Frontline Health Workers
Eat Right India
Client : World Bank for FSSAI
Frontline health workers lacked access to engaging and comprehensive training on basic nutrition.
Explanation of the Problem
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) plays a critical role in enforcing food standards and promoting healthy nutritional practices across the country.
The country has a vast network of frontline health workers in every village, who are often the first point of contact for communities when it comes to health and nutrition; yet, traditional training materials often fails to engage and educate them meaningfully.
Therefore FSSAI felt the need for a comprehensive and engaging course on nutrition specifically designed for the frontline workers of India.
To build a foundational, engaging, and easily accessible nutrition education program for frontline workers across India.
Design Objectives
To create a video-based course that explains complex nutritional concepts into easy-to-understand interactive modules that holds attention from start to finish.
To cover and reflect the cultural diversity of India’s health and nutrition landscape.
To use diverse storytelling formats to hold attention and reinforce learning.
Design content that’s scalable and accessible for both rural and urban outreach.
What We Did
We created a compelling 14-part video course on nutrition, blending creativity with learning to ensure maximum engagement and impact.
01
Topic Ideation
Mapped the entire content journey, ensuring alignment with FSSAI’s nutrition goals.
02
Multi-format Storytelling
Used diverse formats like interview based talk shows, fiction, puppetry, animation, and infographics to keep the content fresh and engaging.
03
Field Research
Conducted three trips to four representative villages for contextual insights and on-ground relevance.
04
Production & Anchoring
Crafted 200 minutes of content across 14 episodes, featuring four different anchors to bring varied voices and credibility.
05
Editing & Production
Refined each episode for clarity, consistency, and platform-readiness.
The final course comprised 14 engaging episodes, totalling 200 minutes of content. By incorporating diverse narrative formats, the series remained dynamic and memorable throughout. It has successfully trained thousands of frontline workers across India and is now live on FSSAI’s official online platforms. The project also established a replicable model for future training campaigns aimed at large-scale public behaviour change.
